I'm Liz Horsey, founder of Your Vision Coaching, a business coach based in Derbyshire, supporting business owners and leaders across Derby, Burton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire and beyond.
I'm also a passionate believer that the quality of our thinking shapes the quality of our choices, and ultimately the quality of our business and life
I support forward-thinking, ambitious business owners and senior leaders who are capable, committed and action-oriented, and also juggling a lot - work, family, relationships and themselves - and who have a growing sense that something needs to shift

My vision is simple
I believe you rarely need more information. More often, you need the time and space to think clearly about what you already know
Life and business constantly compete for your attention. It's easy to become busy reacting, solving problems and juggling responsibilities. Over time, the quality of your thinking suffers, and so can the choices you make
My vision is to help people reclaim that thinking space, because that's where clarity, confidence and meaningful change begin
I believe:

My story
After 25+ years in corporate marketing and leadership, I was ready to go it alone and started my own marketing consultancy. Then one day, I took my young daughter to a chocolate-making café in Burton. I felt the click - with the concept and the owner, and we became business partners. ,
It was great for a while, or so I let myself believe. Then something happened….
Picture the scene. It was a quiet Monday morning in the cafe – I was alone. I’d cleaned up after a weekend packed with kids’ parties, and reloaded the chocolate tempering machine. The smell of warm, melting Belgian chocolate filled the air as I sat down to do the books.
After 3 years and countless conversations with my business partner about how to grow the business, I realised in that moment the reality - we were stuck. Trapped in the day-to-day. The business had become all-consuming, spilling into evenings and weekends and affecting family life too. We were working incredibly hard, paying ourselves very little, and I couldn't see a clear path forward.
I knew then that I was going to have to walk away from a business I truly loved
I was heartbroken.
That day changed everything
It reignited my own self-development journey and ultimately led me to become a business and personal coach
Looking back, I can now see what we needed wasn't simply more hard work. We needed space to step back, think differently, challenge our assumptions and make better decisions. We needed an independent perspective, a stronger business model and a clearer path forward
Life had other plans
Helping others thrive, rather than simply survive, has become my passion, so they can avoid reaching the point I did
